Wait, you're on the same time zone as me. Isn't it a little bit
early in the morning to party??

BTW, do you mind if I substitute something like this for
the Rock'n Roll? :)

yes i do - IT'S NOT LOUD ENOUGH...........:smash:

Then you have a problem with your amplifier, not the recording. :)

Actually, that thing I mentioned in another thread some time
ago about the largest dynamics ever measured at a live
concert, was actually a performance of die Walküre, at the
Met I think. I don't remember the exact figure, but it was
well over 100 dB. Note that this was dynamics, ie. the difference
between the loudest and the most silent passages, not the
sound level, which must have been even higher.

If that is not enough, you might try Tchaikowskys 1812 overture.
Due to the cannons involved it may not be advisable to perform
in a concert hall. There was a performance in Canada once
where a large number of people had to seek medical attention
for ear damages afterwards. Of course, I suppose that is kind
of standrd procedure after rock concerts, but I do not find that
a merit. :)

I reluctantly have to confess that I used to listen to rock music
when I was young, and somewhere around 1975 or slightly
later sounds familiar as the time their first records were released,
or at least when we first heard about them here. I proabably
still have one or two of their LPs lying around somewhere. Not
listened to for some 25 years, though.

don't get me wrong - i enjoy most music, as long it's performed by real players.....i hate those damn computer drums

Don't worry, it is rather I who have becom more single-minded.
There is so much wonderful classical music and life is so short that
I rarely listen to anything else. Besides, despite once listening
to rock music I often can't stand it nowadays. Getting old, maybe.
I agree with you though. Most pop, rock and disco was OK, even
if not good, until they started using those horrible computer
drums about 20 years ago.

At least proper electronic drums sound good. The worst sounds I've ever heard live came from a laptop. The samples were actually pretty interesting but it sounded as if he was using the native soundcard and MP3 compression! It's one thing to create distortion with a Strat and a Marshall but a whole other thing to deliver pointless noise with a PA system. I wish there was aural contraception.

The first time I heard ACDC was 1975. They must be getting a bit old to be carrying on like that now.
That must be about the time when I got around to visit ACDC in concert. I had the ticket but felt sick at that day. My brother went instead of me - still two day after the concert he had a bad ringing in the ears (and directly after the concert he told me they really had to shout to overcome the whistle in the ears).
The next day the newspaper critic was that this concert is not subject to music critic but an expert of explosives.:bomb:
Though, somehow it`s a pity I`ve not seen them in their high days.:(

The Who

tbla: Laurel Raceway, must have been about '69 or '70. Double bill with Led Zep. Opening act was Jethro Tull. A nice show. LOUD. Outdoors, yet. And still very, very smoky.

Didn't even know they made PN in Argentina. Heading there next week, so I'll see if any crosses my path. I love their Malbecs.
