Default Build an in-line filter for security microphone?

I have a security camera system, and recently added a microphone to one of the cameras.

The microphone is cheap, but very sensitive. It picks up noises from all over the seems to do very well with footsteps, doors slamming, car noises, birds, crickets, wind etc. I wish it was better at picking up just voices.

Does anyone know of a way to attenuate the low and high frequencies through the use of an in-line filter? If so, I wonder if I could build one myself. The microphone is just one of the basic security cam mics with a 12 volt input and an RCA type connector.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks. Now that I know what to call it, I see quite a bit of information about it on Google.
