Compressor unit help?

Hey, not to sure where to post this as I'm new to this site so sorry if I got it wrong.

I'm looking at making a compressor unit for bass guitar, I have a circuit diagram but I fear it is rather outdated... It uses a VN10KM N channel VMOS transistor, which I am looking to either replace or upgrade and it also uses the good old LF351N ICs and I'm looking to upgrade those as well. If anyone has any suggestions for either of these then I am very grateful!

Vn 10 may be replaced with BS107, check pinout. LF 351 is a JFET opamp, it is currently under production, or try any TL071 or CA3130 with some circuit tuning.

I have tried using a CA3130 without much luck in the past so I'll give the TL071 a try and do you know where I can get hold of the BS107 as the supplier my school uses has that listed as discontinued.
