Here is a thread for poorly recorded music or movies with bad audio quality. Please don't list bad music or b-movies - that is a question of your taste. Maybe we can warn others of stuff that was made without care.

I just saw the DVD "Drumline" and the audio is so compressed that the volume changes during the "battle of the bands" sequence. I saw it on an airplane about 6 months ago and thought I would rent it to really hear the beauty of the drums, but no... either the mastering for DVD was poor or the duplicators switched on the limiters. Fun movie, horrible sound.

My worst recorded CD is Ricky Martin, Living la Vida Loca. Sound like it was compressed... twice! Fun but flat!

In trying to re-capture my youth, I started buying the CD version of my old LPs and I found CD with this label to be of poor quality.

On Ampex's C-format audio alignment tape, the tone anouncements are muffled and distorted. Hardly fills one with confidence

As you know, the PAL tape was completely different, so maybe they were. When topical, it was one of those industry jokes..

That's the worst audio recording I have in my collection. It's so bad, that it's actually really good. "Sid Sings"

Mozart's Requiem, the Naxos version -I think it was the Czech Philarmonic orchestra, which isn't that bad really.
Naxos has some *very* good recordings in it's collection, but -alas- these are rare... |
