What size 240/110 stepdown tranny would I need to power a Mcintosh MC240....a 500W unit pops its fuse.I'm assuming its the startup current thats the problem..1000W?

We would really appreciate it if you put ur Amps or wadever you are trying to power's Wattage rating...not the sound output...but the electricity consumtion figures...either amps or watts...

a 1 kva step down transformer 240/120 will give you 10 amps approx and is more than enough for the amplifier

You could just switch to a slow-blow fuse, although this may not protect from things like lightning.
