To the original question , I don't think you can do it by yourself .
You can send the file to Kindle ,and it will be converted into Kindle propietary file format ,then it would be transferred to your device wirelessly...hopefully ![]() But I don't think they do this routinely . |

Nothing to worry about, here's a quote straight from Amazon's site (http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...Id=200375630):
Built-in PDF reader for Kindle 2nd Generation devices Your Kindle 2nd Generation device can display PDF documents without losing the formatting of the original file. Send PDF documents directly to your Kindle device (via your Send-to-Kindle address), or drag and drop PDF files from your computer to your Kindle device via USB. You can also magnify PDFs by viewing them in landscape mode. An alternative, yes, but not a good one. You need to use an e-ink display to know what I mean. Reading from an e-ink screen and from a standard LCD screen simply cannot be compared. |

I obviously have a PC.... I have a laptop also but I bought the Kindle in the hope that it would make e-reading a pleasure rather than an eye strain. It will also free me from my seat in front of the screen. Even the laptop is a bit bulky, heavy on battery's and too valuable for use, lets say, in the bathroom... A favourite reading location

That being said, I still prefer the 'feel' of a book compared to the reader, but the reader is far more convenient. |
