I recently picked up an old Akai DD8plus "Digital Dubber" machine, and it seems to work, but I have no Magneto Optical disks for it, and it can't really do much without a disk to record to.
Does anyone know whether these machines use the "WORM" type of Magneto Optical disks, or the Rewritable type? Both types of disk are remarkably expensive (approx four times what I paid for the machine!), so I want to make sure I buy the right type of disk first time
Oddly, even the User Manual doesn't say whether to use WORM or RW disks.
Apparently these MO drives are still quite common in Japan, but pretty-much unheard-of elsewhere, which probably explains the high media prices.
Thanks in advance!
