There is a commercial antenna called the Butterfly that is made for ham radio. I had one about 25 years ago. I won it in a drawing at a hamfest, then sold it at another hamfest without ever opening the box. Then the guy that I sold it to asked me to help him build it. It was the inspiration for the coat hanger TV antenna and there are similarities in design, but not size or price.

This is not the one that I was thinking of though. I think I saw a wire antenna that crossed in the center in a ham radio magazine or book somewhere quite a while ago. I could be wrong on the feed point. It was a while ago.

Unhappy Out of the Loop

Thanks, I'll have to save that link. I'm out of the loop right now. Seemed to be coming down with a flu about the time I posted the antenna, but it got worse. Admitted to hospital on Black Friday, and by CyberMonday I was being started on chemo for acute myeloid leukemia. Yeah, just out of the blue and it makes no sense....so take every minute of life seriously and enjoy the hell out of it! Best holiday wishes to all.
