Or "Streaming on the move!!, you don't know you're born! None of your cloud computing in my day, oh no. I'm old enough to remember when the internet was actually so slow you had to download music to a noisy disc based storage machine called a harddrive that sat inside your own computer that you kept in your own home!"
Market forces and Disc sales will determine if CD is abandoned. |

If downloads mean MP3 becomes the standard, I stop listening to new music.

new music is compressed to death (loudness wars) so the lower quality Mp3 wouldn't matter since we won't be listening to the new crap anyways.

On one hand this is very bad news, but can you not already download WAV files?
It wouldn't really matter so long as you could get a bit for bit copy of the release in at least 16bit resolution. |

This item from a single blog has been all over the Net without a single confirmation or denial from record companies. The premise smells like sensationalism designed to drive advertising traffic to the site, so as we've read elsewhere on the Wibbly Web, don't feed the trolls.

Not the asteroid, the Maya calendar thing, December 2012. Who are we to question the wisdom and arcane knowledge of an extinct civilization?
