Hi

The joystick usually plugs into the sound card. In fact my PC has two joystick ports, one with the motherboard's onboard sound connectors, and one on my Audigy. Too bad I can't send you one

Maybe you could transfer your old sound card to your new machine?

See ya,
Tim.

You'll aslos find that quite a few joysticks nowadays (my Logitech wingman extreme f'rinstance) have USB connectors. The logitech actually has a regular joystick connector and an adaptor lead that converts the joystick port connection into USB compatible connection.

I'd be really suprised if any new j/stick didn't have a usb connector option.

Otherwise, yes, as stated it's usu on the soundcard panel (of course specialty audio soundcards (lynx and the like) don't have them but most all others do.

I think the word you're all looking for is a MIDI port. It stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface and is usually used for an outboard MIDI keyboard, etc.

In order to use your old joystick all you need to do is buy a cheap old soundcard with a MIDI port (provided you have a spare PCI slot in your PC) - this should cost no more than £10-£15 ($15-$20 US) approximately.

Hope this helps.
