Just in case anyone is alarmed, the target of our humour appears to be a native English speaker (although perhaps with a funny accent) and a new moderator (so therefore thick-skinned and recently well-beaten). I hope none of us would poke fun at the spelling of a non-English speaker.

Of course, it is often the case that 'foreigners' write better English than some native-speakers. I am afraid I tend to ignore posts written in textspeak (no or random capitalisation/punctuation/paragraphing/spelling) if they appear to come from English-speaking parts of the world.

Its not a daft question

A better question might be can it be done using ears only, not should it be. Not easily IMO.

would also be a 'daft' question I mean, it would have very little 'reason'

but you might better ask, 'using measurements only

that might be a little less predetermined but again, I think
it would be strange to design a speaker without listening to it :D

Hi,

No it isn't.
Many people have no real measuring equipment above a multimeter.
It surprising how far you can get using your ears and a good test CD.

But I agree, using all means that are at your disposal seems obvious.
