Default AUDIO XPRESS has been sold to Elektor

Fyi, and all that, I received an email from the marketing people at Audio Xpress, all of the publications have been sold to Elektor US.

I presume that this means that Ed Dell is either retiring or ill, I have no idea, but he is done with the mags.

Ed Dell certainly did a great thing for DIYers in the USA and around the world by starting Audio Amateur Magazine. For that I thank him...

Likewise my thanks to Ed Dell without these magazines I would not have started building stuff and would not have discovered Papa's designs. I do hope he is not unwell.

We wouldn't be here if it weren't for Ed!

From what I understand, he's not sick, just ready to retire and take a well-earned rest (he's in his 80s).

I would love Elektor to make availabe a CD/DVD of the "Glass Audio" collection. I know that some of the issues were on a CD, but not all.

Yes he is retiring; he'll be 90 next year.
Then again, Sidney Harman just passed away a few weeks ago at 99....

Harman was a strong 99! I used to have to get tickets and back stage passes for his high school age kids to go to concerts! That was only a few years ago!

I'll share today's Ed Dell email:

Thanks Ed, It has been a great journey. I'm looking forward to chasing, I'm doing a crash course to remind me of the basics. It's always been an especially rewarding experience with you and your fine material.

very best

Ed

Ed,

I am not sure if congratulations are in order, after 41 years parting has to be painful. But now you have more time to chase babes if you can remember why!

Congrats.
