outside speakers what kind setup info

Maybe one has to be cat person to understand

I have full grown cat who never developed meow above a whisper named squeek.
He comes to door broadcasting his squeek and we cannot hear to let him in.
My speaker savvy does not go beyond computers, however I am a Linux geek if that might help,
So ideally a speaker front and back door with type and setup.
Sort of like a audio monitor in an infants room.
