mains voltage stabiliser

I'm interested to find anything(schematics,information) to construct a mains voltage stabiliser.I have done some experiments but there's a problem with the triacs' behavior.(Yes,it's based on triacs).I've done some mistakes that i can't correct.So I need the diy-ers help!
