Im sort of a newbie, how many of you pop your ears to correct your hearing before listening to a setup?
Im thinking its common, but I've never asked. It seems like my hearing gets out of whack throughout the day and I must hold my nose and apply constant air pressure before the ear drum returns to normal. Sometimes, for example today, my stereo sounded really funny on one side and a quick attempt to pop my ears did nothing. I eventually pressurised my ear for about 15 seconds until it "popped" 4-5 times, then everything sounded like it should. Though I have had bad allergies the past few days. |

The way human ears are designed, all that is nessary to equalize pressure is simple swallowing once or twice.
This is acconplished via the ear's "eustachian tubes". It is not that uncommon for some to have some sort of blockage in those tubes and exhibit the symptoms you described. Perhaps you should consult an ENT doctor as it is not norrmal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eustachian_tube Last edited by JoeDJ; 14th May 2011 at 01:35 AM. |
