Lol, that little drawing actually helped a lot , I appreciate it, and I appreciate all the responses I got, it's nice to have somewhere to go to for advice

Your welcome.

Yes, grounding is very important and where most DIY builds fail. You can not assume that a thick piece of wire is at the same potential along its length when various items and components connect to it. So critical returns are always run separately so as to avoid this. This problem is why so many DIY amps have noise and hum/buzzes.

If you need to know more when you actually build something then just ask
Its too complex a subject to just sum up in a few words but when you understand what happens and why, then its easy to get it right.
