If it is in the center of the screen, you can makes strong argument that the display is a dud.
Screens are typically graded n image quality in 3 zones a,b, c with a representing the center of the screen and c representing the edges and the periphery. The other issue would be your level of satisfaction. If its bugging the hell out of you, replace it. Even the low-end plasma screens still cost big bucks and you deserve to be happy with it. The third issue would be the manufacture and your expectations of them. If it’s a $10k Pioneer the company has marketed that you will receive the best viewing experience possible. That’s what you deserve and they should deliver. If its an off brand $2.5k dollar display, I would likely accept one or two dead pixels on the edges... -Dave |

dead pixels are actually more common than you think.
i work for an AV store, and sell quite a bit of plasmas, and many of them have bad pixels. unfortunately, if you read the manufacturers "limited" warranty, most of the time you need a minimum of 25 or so before you can send it in for service or claim it as defective. plasmas are nightmare customer service issues, because the compaines know they are faulty, but they wont claim fault... |
