I have an old stand alone counter top wooden cased tube mono record player from the 50's .. I messd it up trying to fix it.. So now I'm wondering about using the nice wooden case and using the turntable and purchasing an extra small set amplifier .. And putting in a speaker to make a really nice version similar to those old ones.. What do I have to do to the turntable to make it compatible with a modern set amplifier... It has the old style cartridge..does that mean it's ceramic? Should I replace the cartridge .. ?
thanks John |
