Just finished my new speaker cables, and so far I love them. They are not burned in yet and they already sound great, 10 pounds of speaker wire nirvana that were the most difficult cables I've ever made. My wrists still hurt from wrestling with these snakes!

I don't think they would be any good for jump starting a car, the total AWG is too small. The three different gauges only total a little bigger than 12ga in each positive and negative leg. The 20ga pure silver in teflon strand would probably act as a fuse. Plus, they would weigh down your car trunk. :-)
Most of the weight is in damping materials.
