This is only one of the several cases,
where halojoy/gromanswe has gotten special treatment.
I could certainly give you other examples,
if you want me to.
Where "the special case" was given special treatment.

I am for that everybody is treated the same
regardless of race, color of skin, home country,
religion, age or gender.

 halojoy/gromanswe  - has TOO GOOD a memory to forget

but still  he and his 2000 posts  is easily forgotten

Halojoy Tube Amplifier Project - Link of the day

Information About A Request

Information About A Request

I got an email with a request of add a link to my website!
I guess someone is checking out webstats of popular
often visited new webpages.
I was surprised one day, I was on the top list
of a Netherlands list of visitors from NL
to tube pages around the world.
I was on 20th place, of most visited in the www.

I do not often get requests. I add my links myself
after I found it be of any value to me
or to my faithful visitors (like Netlist ;) )

I am very glad when I see some one spend
1 hour or more at my links.
This means that he/she has found something useful.

got this:

Subject: add link?

Dear Sir:
Steve Sammet from SAS Audio Labs
requesting the addition of our website to your links page
if it meets your criteria.
We manufacture and direct market high end
all triode SET, PP amps, preamps, Ics
and speaker wire and have some white papers.

Our website is http://www.sasaudiolabs.com/

Thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Steve Sammet

What to do when you get a request from a commercial site?
Well my approach was to visit the site
and then explain "my policy" in the reply.

Commercial companies "brag about" their policies.
But we all have policies, wheather it is written down, specified or not.
We have pattern for how we react and handle different situations.
This is done, hopefully, by our conscient concerns
and inline with our aims, attitude and goals here in our life.

We can call it personal princips.

You can read my reply to sasaudio here

What would your reply have been?

Hi,

Halo,

I think you did the right thing by accepting to put the link on your site.

One detail; Steve is already a member of diyAudio.com and occasionally posts in the tube section.

I found his products quite unique and from the little private e-mail exchange we had in the past I can only say that he's a very polite, reserved person.

Your sites are probably ranked high because of my continuous googling for info...;)
I sometimes find myself on one of yours without even being aware of it.

Congatulations on your sites and keep up the good work.

Cheers,;)

you've got a point

Glad we agree on the main thing, jh6you
All people are as much worth, regardless of differing details,
and should be treated equally and with same chances.

As for your other remark I leave it up to anyone
who reads this to form an opinion of their own.
These things are not so easy, but yet very important.

Lot of nice thinking and saying
but too little doing.

halojoy - tries to practice what he thinks is right

A reminder, featuring Peter Daniel,A Thinking Man at diyaudio:
"You've got so much to say, say what you mean,
mean what you're thinking, and think anything. Why not?
Now why why why not?" /Cat Stevens

First release 1972 on Ablum "Catch A Bull At Four" by Cat Stevens.
Song is called "Can't Keep It In"
(got to show the world all the love that's in me)

Of course halojoy bought the Original Vinyl LP in the 70-ies,
as well as most other albums by Cat Stevens.
