No More Train Wrecks ?.

At 8pm on April 4, 1901, a 37 car goods train lost control descending from Clarence Tunnel. It climb the buffers at top bottoms and half the engine was left suspended 152 metres above Ida Falls Gully. The driver and firemen jumped clear but the track was blocked while two locomotives pulled the engine to safety. Today we can see the large concrete block that was installed to prevent a similar occurence.
