Disposing of Old Transformers?

I have quite a few old transformers laying around including a few wall warts from old projects, equipment etc...

I want to throw most of them in the garbage. But, some of them are quite too heavy just to throw in a trash bag.

Does anyone have any suggestions about disposing of them properly?

What about giving/selling them to someone nearby ?

You will not have the hassle to dispose them yourself and you'll make someone happy !

I'll 2nd that... and if you have to dispose of them, take them to a metal recycler. Lots of good iron & copper to be preserved.

Thanks. I think the "metal recycler" suggestion would be the best option for me.

I don't know anyone I could give them to.
