A lot can go wrong. Neuronal sodium ion channels are easily disrupted. Insecticides jam them open, paralysing insects mid-flight.
Then there's the sound of a ringing mobile phone, which has the power to freeze people on the spot. |

Hmmmmm...... with those short signal burst I strongly suspect that this depicts a typical conversation between two male homo sapiens that have not seen one another in several years. "How Ya been?" - " I'm good".
The signal path of a conversation between two females would be much longer and involve several branch sub topics and thought processes.

Some people seem to process sound data with their ear (instead of the brain) so this isn't an issue.
