connection from a pc to an electronic systeme

i would lik to know how do all thoese researchers in lab to connect their electyronique systeme to a personal computer.
more presisly i wana know how to comunicate with any kind of elecxtronic systeme to my pc

Google GPIB or IEEE 488. This is the bus system commonly used to connect professional instruments to a PC. There are many professional tools that have an IEEE 488 connector; PSUs, DMMs, Network and Spectrum Analyzers, relay banks, you can build up any kind of automated test set you require. Software called 'Labview' from National Instruments (ni.com) is commonly used to control the rack.

now i have a good idea about the connection of computers with externale devices. yes i have to search more on this subject but the first step is already done.
