So two bulls are walking through a tough neighborhood and meet up with a rhinocerous, who spits in the bulls' general direction. Recognizing that a rhino is a bit much for one bull to take onalone, the two bulls hit the rhino simulataneously, winning the confrontation!

There's no argument, it's exactly what you say it is. You said it would measure like a conventional resistor, wouldn't affect noise, and that its effects couldn't be heard without peeking. And you were absolutely right.
