down here in the land of freedom (smell the sarcasm?) many of us will miss ours in a few days. Seems the Patriot Act (again, smell the sarcasm?) basically stopped dead in its tracks the importation of fireworks since transporting them became a huge pain. So while the huge display over the Mall here in the Capital will go forth, across the mainland of the US, small city displays are being cancelled or scaled back to back yard portions.
(Fondly remember blowing up stuff real good as a child. Selling fireworks was a family business before my grandfather passed - of course, we can't do that anymore, well at least more than once...) |
