Theoretically speaking If you have a CD writer I have a Pioneer 509
or a Sony Mini disc recorder full size i have one of those to. If one were to plug the CD player using it as a CD transport into The CD writer or Mini disc Recorder via the Digital cable. Use the analog out of ether to the amplifier. Are you Theoretically speaking using a of board Dac For the CD player? If so. If i had thought about this long enough Before buying my Cambridge Dacmagic could using CD writer or Mini Disc in this way Save me a lot of money to do the same job I see most players using Burr Brown Chips anyway now.. Huh?
If you use analog out from anything you no longer need a DAC. The idea would be to use a transport with Digital out into a good DAC, then to the amp/volume. DAC's vary in quality even if they are on the same IC (chip). People that think that because you "have one" you do not "need one" are fools to the highest foolishness degree - like DJ's using digital files that make my ears cry. |
