From looking at the manual (the link above) i'm not sure it actually output sound through the SCART - is it possible?
Anyhow - I can check it pretty easily next time - just see if connecting the SCART to the TV gives any audio from the TV speakers as well...

What about the "cable" question?

So - SCART was a GREAT idea - only one problem, the model distributed locally has NO SCART output

So I'm back to using the only output from this damn unit - which is also the worse possible - using the front Speaker out terminals...

So just to verify again - what are the recommended resistor values I'll need?
Would using a standard 50K/ohm STEREO audio pot be suitable (I have few of these around) ?
What level of current/Watt it should be able to handle?
Or should I rather use single resistor in-line before the amp ?

I'd rather control the volume from the device instead of having a separated pot - and there is a built-in option to set all the channels volume separately - so shouldn't be that hard to balance the rest with the "bi amplified" Front channels...

Jest please recommend the "less worse" solution and specific components I should use...

Regards,
Gal

P=U^2/R,you know P and you know R so you can roughly figure what Uout of the reciever will be. add some and the calculate the resistor devider you need to go to line level (i use 1.41 volts, but that's not the standard afaik) when the output is at maximum.

now choose a resistor range; i'd use something in the 10K range. with the same rule (now you know Uout) you can calculate what power rating the chosen resistors should be.
