I just found out a friend of mine sells a Technics SL-PG100 CD deck for very cheap. I can't find any info on it on the web, nor i have listened to it (yet), but it's seems like a very well built player. Has anyone tried one of these or a site with info/reviews?

Bought it. It's built like a tank, and sounds VERY VERY good. Not only that, there's plenty of room for mods in it! (circuitry left for digital out, and so). Already did my first one, which was converting it to a 220vac unit. For 35us$ i couldn't be happier!
![]() One final thing; this unit uses "MASH noise shaping technology". I've seen a couple of Technics cd units in the past with the same logo; anyone knows what does it do? |

Hi Lisandro
There's not a lot to find about that player. Here is some "info" about MASH. http://www.video-direct.com/panasoni...ompare.html#f5 Looks like it's nothing more than a 1-bit DAC with a nice commercial name. /Hugo

Yup. I was curious, there was a large sticker which said "MASH Technology - digital servo" that sprung my attention
Anyway, it sounds lovely!
