Hi,
I'm using Windows XP Pro. All latest patches installed. Every few minutes, my mouse would lock up and I would get the sound alert, the one as if you would plug in a USB device and unplug it. it's annoying since I don't have any device connected. is there some option to reset or fix this problem? thanks! |

Hi,
yes, I have a usb mouse but that's connected all the time. I've recently been using a usb to sdhc card reader lately that I plug in and remove. Win XP is scanning and thinking the device is there when it's not. I went into the device manager and found some usb devices that had the ! next to it so I disable those. will see if that helps. |

I had a similar problem, not as often though, just a few times a week. I would also get messages about a USB port could perform faster. It turned out to be an internal card reader.
