Power blocks and filters

Hello Gents ,
Been thinking about one of these AudiogoN ForSale: Tice Audio Power Block

what is in these things that make them so expensive , does anyone have a schematic or idea what goes into making a good power block , noise filter etc .. thinking of one for the low level pieces..

It's not what's inside, but what's written on the front panel

You did take note that there is the word "audio" printed on it, right?

Yes, an isolation transformer.

Those are cheap from the U.S. military surplus.

But what is it you're trying to solve with it?

Just wanted to see what was involved if i wanted to build one . Most of my friends who use them swear they make a big difference in their system when used on the low level stuff .

I have massive power filters on my Pre and soon to be done on my rega cd player. I just giving it a look ....
