Default Vox AC 30 Guitar Amplifier 'noisy'

I have a Vox AC 30 Guitar amplifier (original UK with Vox 'Blue' Speakers fitted), circa mid 1960's in very good condition. After a few impressive years on the road it was put to rest and has now been standing for about 5 years. Recently switching it on I can hear low level, low frequency 'grumbling and crackling' from the speakers, even when the gains are set to zero. I have been told that the main Capacitors probably need 'reconditioning'. I have also been asked to check if the noises get quieter the longer the amp is left running. This I am doing today.

Any thoughts and ideas anyone ? How do I safely go about reconditioning the Big Caps ?.

Any info appreciated a this amp 'sings like a bird' when it runs and is a valuable part of my overall sound and it would be nice to hear this bird sing again along with the Gibson V.

I wouldn't muck about with 'reconditioning' - have all electrolytic caps replaced (not just the 'main' power supply caps). To do this safely requires a knowledge of working with high voltages & how to discharge the existing caps. If in doubt, get a tech to do it - you can die very easily if zapped by the voltages in valve amp.
