In order to do one would have to hermaticaly seal both ends of the transducers aswell.
Other wise you would suck the Diagphrams out of each unit! he,he |

I don't agree. As long as both sides of the diaphram are inside the same cavity, the pressure on both sides will remain equal. I thought that's what I said in my prior posting. Both the sending and receiveing transducers must be entirely inside the evacuated space. A bulkhead type connector or small holes for the wires sealed with an air tight caulking material would bring leads to the outside.
