HP XB31 projector lamp

Hi All,

I have gone through the forum and was looking for help to use regular halogen bulb on my HP XB31 projector but didnt get any help.

The problem is when I use the regular halogen bulb 150W it would light up for a few seconds but then on and off until the LED on the projector light up saying lamp issue.

If I were to use the original VIP R 150/16 then it would light up then brighten up and then shows the HP logo and so on but just not the regular halogen bulb.

The new bulb just costing about the same as a new projector which is not worth of buying.

Anyone who experienced it before, please assist.
