Down With Thanks!

That's to say that I'm not "down" with thanks (as in "ALRIGHT!!) but that it was a nice idea but it needs to go (or be modified).

Six thanks on one page??

I received a hard time a few months back for having a sig line that was more than 2 lines (it was three lines with no spaces between). The reason? It was distracting and taking up space (uselessly) on the page.

How about a limit on the thanks per day one can mete out? 2 is a good number.

How about a simple check mark on the post to show that someone has thanked for the golden information imparted?

OR let's do away with the "thanks" system altogether and just post a thanks with some addition contribution (as it was before).

LOL! I noticed that too. It seemed to be, for lack of a better term, a "thanks war" . Whichever side gets the most thanks wins the argument.

BTW, thanks for your post. Of course, I clicked the "thanks" button to express this sentiment as well.

I'd encourage everybody reading this thread to click the "thanks" button on John's original post too. Let's see how many "thanks" he can pick up!

Well, the new diyaudio.com is very close to be a facebook clone in many aspects. Now one could call that development, and thus call us too old and out of tune
