Default Ebay dispute

Changes to the eBay.co.uk User Agreement

Sellers must have a reimbursement method on file with eBay at all times. The reimbursement method can be changed by contacting eBay and searching for 'Change My Reimbursement Method'. Where the seller is found at fault, we will notify them and charge the method of reimbursement they have on file.

Hi all,
Is this new, or a change to existing procedures to protect the buyers?
Have fraudulent Sellers become a serious loss of potential trade for Ebay?

This seems like a good deal for the honest buyer.
Could a fraudulent buyer take advantage of this?

Of course.

Paypal can definitely be exploited...which is why I don't like to use it for any big-ticket items, and never keep a balance in there long term.

Ah you got the same email today then Andrew. Yes it's a new thing. ebay is a fraudulent buyers paradise and this new scheme makes it even more so, what's worse is that innocent sellers get zero protection and in fact shafted by ebay. Paypal is just as bad. Oh what a surprise, they are the same company. Time they were both investgated by the monopolies commission.

not exactly on topic...but this paragraph from their policies is interesting.
