It sure seems to me that it would be more direct to ASK the maker instead of asking everyone else. And ask them directly instead of hoping the question has already been answered online.

What if it winds up being the cookware that is freq sensitive instead of the stove?

Enzo :

have you ever thought about the fact that the maker doesn't want US in north america to buy "cheaper"
euro counterparts when they are selling the same products for 2-3 times the price here?

at first, the lady from siemens France was very direct that it woudln't work

then i told her that i was confirmed by UK rep that it would work, and they'd better get their stuff straight

( wich was a lie )

all of a sudden, she told me that it was tested on both 50 and 60hz and it would work if i had correct voltage
( 220-240v on their website )

so thanks for people helping,
it was confirmed by siemens france that it would work

so anyone in CANADA/ USA looking for induction hobs
go to UK or France websites,
and pay half price even with shipping, for better equipped and more advanced models
( 10 to 20 times more choice for each brand )

that's what i am doing neway

Glad you got it straight. I noticed that Siemens UK didn't specify 50 or 60Hz, but some web retailers specified 50/60Hz. I wish these big companies would get their act together...

well they sure don't want us to know that

since selling old products with old and cheap designs

at 2-4 times the price is probably VERY lucrative ...

placed the order already

saving approx 2000$USD on a 3500$ order
( 3 parts )

compared to what's available here ...
or what is not
since what is avaiable are POS with old looking stuff
and low tech garbages ..
