The universal remote that I have has a programming mode where you select the manufacturer for each
device, TV, VCR, SAT, etc. by entering a number from a table. I just set the TV to Sony for this experiment. |

Folks:
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but perhaps you can point me in a useful direction. I have built several preamplifiers using various (and frankly terrific) Dantimax kits (http://electronics.dantimax.dk/). The Dantimax gear uses the RC5 protocol, but the remote handsets that Mikkel Simonsen (Mr. Dantimax) sells are all inexpensive mass-market plastic remotes. I don't have the equipment or know-how to manufacture something better but would love to find a source for a high quality metal remote that uses the RC5 protocol. Does anyone have a recommendation? Many thanks, Scott |

I don't have an answer, but is this the sort of case you had in mind shown here:
http://sound.westhost.com/project110.htm I'm not sure what protocol he uses. Edit: just noticed that he uses the Sony protocol. Also not sure if these are the Pics that he might use: http://www.rentron.com/remote_control/TINY-IR2.htm Pete B. |

I am not able to get a 40 KHz IR Receiver module. However, 38 KHz ones are abundant. Do you reckon it would work with the 40 KHz Sony IR Protocol? |
