Me thinks we are up to 11? Growing. Just need a little water and sunlight and see what happens.
Owen. Yep I was working on a lowther clone with some decent X-max. Heady days. Just a simple comment about the weight idea. Some cement can work marvels and I think a bad of premixed sand aggregate cement is $7. It weighs over 70 labs when mixed so you can get a great deal of weight for not much money. Plus you can pour it into the bottom of the enclosure and voila concentrated weight right where you want it. I have a full cabinet shop by the way. I have only done 9 kitchens in 22 years. Mostly fancy mill work and furniture. So I have more clamps than you can shake a speaker at. and every saw you have ever thought about except a vertical panel saw. I even have enough intelligence to use them to good effect! Mark

I'm not FROM Ottawa, but I have friends there and I'm always looking for an excuse to visit!
I'm actually from Des Moines, IA, in the states, which is very much light a slightly smaller Ottawa, with a bit less diversity, and not as many good pubs |

Wow! They're comin outa the woodwork. LOL
It looks like I'm going to be moving to Ottawa this summer or I should say moving back. I think an Ottawa meet would attract people from Toronto and Montreal as well. I think what may be needed is a mailing list of some kind to keep track and plan. |

If this takes off let us know, it sounds like a good time!
I've been designing speakers on and off for 30 years, worked as a professional audio designer at Nortel for over 10 yrs, and love DIY audio (mainly speakers, but some amp and pre amp work too). Always a good time to see what creative things are brewing in the basement of other audio junkies! Dave |

Hi Dave
Cool. Someone who actually has a long back ground in audio. I think the total is at or near 12 members. And I have to agree completely with the fun had when checking out other guys gear. There is so much thought and ingenuity put into projects. Mark

Thurso still counts!
It's about as far as Perth so no big deal in my book. I think we are closing in on 15 or 16 members now. Mark

Hello
I too live in Ottawa. A get together would be nice. Never thought there would be enough of us here... Thanks for asking the question! Pierre |

Hello Pierre!
The more the merrier. Now we just need a venue for something or the other. And all of us nutballs can meet and greet. Mark
