Please help me. Made a noob mistake and bought this: FS:PASS B1 (CLONED) preamp completed, 2 months used like new
It arrived with 220V transformer. I would like to replace it so I can use it here where I live in the US. The blue wires from the transformer are labeled 18 VAC and connect to "Super regulated power supply ideal for B1 Buffer preamp." I thought I would be able to remove the exisiting and solder in a new one. Any suggestions (about the transformer I mean)? |

Yeah, shouldn't be a problem. You just need to replace the transformer with one that has a 120V primary.
The replacement should have a 120V primary, 18V secondary and an adequate power rating. I'd guess that the existing transformer would be rated at around 50VA. It will be written on it, so check. The new one should have a rating greater than or equal to that. Your local electronics store will probably have something that would suit. Otherwise, pick your favorite online retailer. |

Thanks very much, appreciate your time. I ordered from Avel Lindberg and Melanie was very nice too, even though I just ordered one transformer.
