Robert Noyce, one of the 'Traitorous Eight' who left Shockley Semiconductor to found Fairchild, and then went on to found Intel along with Gordon Moore, is profiled by one of my favorite writers. I happened to stumble on a mention of the title of this article, which was originally published in Esquire Magazine in December of '83, and here it turns out that Stanford has preserved this wonderful and lengthy composition.

I also find it quite interesting to discover how Iowa plays so prominently in the beginnings of electronics. |
