Being that I'm a fan of the anime series "Elfen Lied" I want the music box that is featured in the anime, however nobody actually makes it and apparently the tune itself is too long for most conventional mechanical setups. So I figured it should be possible to create an electronic version much more easily. However I want a really nice one with much better sound so I can also use it to play other music. My idea is to use a small mp3 player with a small amp such as:
http://www.amphony.com/products/a100.htm With a small high quality speaker such as: http://markaudio.com/alpair/5/gold The speaker would fire upward from the inside section that would normally house the mechanical element, up through a perforated section under the velvet lining. I may even rig more space into the box for the speaker to have more volume and maybe an aperiodic vent on the bottom of the box. I still need to determine the actual dimensions of the box. |

Changed my mind on the driver, Fostex FF85K instead of the Alpair. This is a project for summer/fall, my gf is really interested in this too.
