some freinds of mine are making a refrigerator that could be nearly silent. it runs off 12Vdc. basically it's an insulated container with a coldplate to the inside, and a peltier and heatsink on the outside. they got the idea online. it seems like it would be cool to have a small refrigerated cooler though. i mean you could use it in the room your music/movies are in. that way you don't have to go anywhere to get another soda.

You can find those ready made in car accessory shops. Probably cheaper than if you would have to buy a peltier yourself.
