cheap computers for dsp, ect

i was looking into this today, a second computer to use as an equalizer, processing, ect...

anyone else do this in their home?

Yep, but I'm not yet there myself.

Putting together a dual amd for use with brutefir and the like. Would be used as a digital crossover, plug-in rack...... But as there is no hurry, it may take a few more months.
