There are many places to find old, used and broken electronics and equipment for free or very little money. The problem is that it is sometimes hard to tell what is worth taking hope to disassemble and what is not. I would like all of you out there to post what parts you have scavenged from where and what you used these parts to make. For example, old computers usually have working power supplies still in them. These can easily be converted into bench power supplies. Another good find can be some UPS's. Some of them use large banks of caps that can be repurposed for use in AMP power supplies.
I am hoping that this will become a sort of database for everyone to use for finding cheap and free parts for their own projects.

Windmills, is among the good finds.
Large heatsinks, nice large film caps, respectable power resistors, copper rails ad libitum. Magura
