haven't heard of these before -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting This amazing and very limited production tubed preamplifier was a joint effort by Plinius and Siltech with input from Absolute Sound reviewer Scot Markwell to be an all out assault on the state of the art. Uses 6922 or variants in that family. I currently have the rare Siemens 8223 gold pin tubes in the preamp section with 6922's in the cathode follower position as those have much less sonic effect. The sound is very transparent and dynamic. Not soft and lush, but as tubes do, it has the body and openness only tubes seem able to do. Remote controlled volume with a massive aluminum Plinius remote. Preamp is microprocessor controlled and uses an outboard power supply. It has a standby mode that it starts in and then you switch it into operation. Phase invert switch comes in very handy for those that hear the 'wood' effect. :>) Single ended inputs and outputs, but a floating balanced output is included as well. Brass knobs, Stainless steel faceplate and 1/4 inch aluminum chassis construction. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.google.com/search?client=...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 |

Is this the beginning of a "stupid things found on Ebay" thread?
What does that bottom pic belong to? I'd love to play "Jenga" with those caps... I bet we could go down to two before anyone heard or measured any difference. Cheers! |

10 inch - Speaker only - still works, but blown. Only noticeable at high volumes. 23 |
