"audio.dream" - Welcome!

You just joined diyaudio.com a few days ago, yet have already posted here twice (coincidently, the first was on the very same day the above listing changed).

No offence, but I've read your posts over and over and am curious about your identity and your interest here...

What is your interest here in defending the above sellers(Just a friendly question)?

Of course if you're offended by my curiosity then my apologies...

Don't get all paranoid now

What audio.dream says is totally correct and applies in general. I've purchased some items trough ebay from one seller and a colleague of mine purchased the same items from another. The prices were almost the same, the shipping as well, but the sellers were completely unrelated. There's a lot of people and a lot of production that can be re-selled that way and not everyone has to be a part of the grand mysterious AudioTek conspiracy

For me - what's done is done, I just wish I had seen the thread earlier. But since half of the things I ordered arrived in the meantime, I've some hopes left for the rest of them.

I know some of you got ripped off, but doesn't Paypal provide any kind of protection? In fact if you use your credit card through doesn't that give you additional protection?

As I said, there is such a thing as "price/risk" ratio. It is OK to scare them into shaping up, but some of us don't want them to disappear.

Life is not fair, and sometimes you have to spend some time clearing up things. If indeed they deliver most of the stuff they sell (and we don't really know unless we ask ebay), then your activities may not be right either. You may think you are doing a public service, but IMO, things are starting to get out of hand.

In fact most of their kits come from analometric which is a manufacturer, and it is listed in alibaba which is a portal for manufacturers.

Default SavvyAudio and Audiotek- One and the Same?

Yeah, Jtsaudio: Please lay off of the new guy, ok? We don't want to scare away (good) people!

Besides, if the seller was lurking, do you think he'd be foolish enough to post here?

<edit>
I just went and did some checking, and found he IS right about SavvyAudio(hsuan05) being the same story as audiotek!

I know this for a fact, because I just saw that eBay listing (#320341383202) and it's:

a)The very same product I paid but never got from audiotek168(item#270336541875).

b)The identical product description, down to the very last word(too exact to be a coincidence).

c)The same M.O. (They started the listing at $1.99 with free shipping, same as audiotek).

Today I see their current listings have all been listed as "Buy It Now" and saw their warning not to post negative feedback- kind of weird to start a listing off with something like that.

I hadn't spotted this one, but thanks to Jts we'll be watching them now!

Why not? Does anyone here really want a dishonest seller to continue ripping off fellow DIYers?

Personally, I'm out $130 so far (and its been weeks since I filed with Paypal). What's the price/risk ratio looking like for me?

Regards,

-Chas

Fellow DIYers are probably aware of this board, so post all you want here and in other boards such as AC, AA, etc. But you guys are not merely warning potential customers, you are after shutting down the business.

Would it be fair to me to loose a good source of components for my hobby?

For the longest time audio enthusiasts have been at the mercy of dealers who charge exorbitant prices for their wares. How many of us have not been duped into Megabuck cables. 99.99999% purity components, isolation devices and the like? Sure it is not the same as not delivering goods, but in the end you will be out of some bucks because some of that stuff is snake oil, and yet many people continue to buy.

Same here. Even though some people have been ripped off, some of us have not been ripped off. And paypal/ebay has a mechanism for non-deliveries.

I will look closely at the new ads you mentioned but I only reviewed the single Dale Resistors advert. and there were as many differences as similiarities.

And with the abuse I gave him with... about a dozen emails over the last week, I fully expected him to ignore me but he may be smarter than we think.

I am current out $100 USD (as my 45 day limit with PayPal expired a day or two on some of the expensive parts) and I have another 15 PayPal disputes that are pending for a further total of $170 USD.

I will check the new ads out carefully and report back later.

Thanks,

Dan

I visited the new SavvyAudio store and I believe there may be a GOOD chance that its our friend "AudioTek168/968/33kami/DIY Japan/DIY Audio Shop/Vikki.HU" once again.

I am just waiting for the Nichicon KG & Wima/RIFA caps to start up and I know that its the A-h0le who is back.

Especially with the comment about Negative Feedback and so forth in RED. This can't be a coincidence or he is knowledgeable about the situation with AudioTek! Or its either it's him or he is using his Buddy's unused EBay account to start up once again!!

I would keep a close eye on him!!!!!

I will watch him like a hawk over the weekend!!!!

Thanks,

jtsaudio wrote:"When he responded what name or initials did he sign/end his message with?

It wasn't 'YG' was it?"

No initals as I remember a email awhile ago he ended with J.F.

I believe that our SCAMMER friend is viewing this thread so he has the upper hand on us so we may havee to be stealth-like to deal with MR Scammer!

I now believe "hsuan05" IS AUDIOTEK and I am not sure about "audio-dream" if he is legit????

Mr Scammer must have used an old EBay unused account of his or a close associate of his for this new store SavvyAudio....

Is this a coincidence that "hsuan05" and "audio-dream" begin within hours or DIY-Japan's demise!!!

I believe we will hear very little from "audio-dream" as he tried to plant a seed of respectibility for SavvyAudio to steer us off the course. I believe we continue our monitoring of this Seller.

Since jtsaudio gave the headsup to DIY Japan (mobile6699) and referring to this site in his Negative Feedback... I believe he is monitoring our forum!

"audio-dream"'s handle on the English" language is similar to Mr Scammer.

If I was Mr Scammer I would be trolling here as well to get a heads-up on our discussion.

Just my 2 cents...

Thanks,

Wow things seem to really have gone mad in the world of audiotek related craziness...!

Personally I'm going to steer clear of them and all their offshots now. It's a damn shame they weren't as honest as they should be, there's so little supplies for this kind of stuff and that annoys me so much, but what can we do?

Is it really worth throwing money at these fraudsters and living in hope that your purchases arrive? Yes, I understand that maybe there is a price/risk ratio factor but nah, it's just not worth giving these people money anymore and keeping them afloat, ripping off others on ebay.

I did recieve all my 3 purchases, shill bidding aside, but that was before it's all really gone to pot for them on ebay... I hope they don't come after me for starting this thread! LOL

And maybe the people behind the many guises of audiotek are watching these pages, maybe even posting nice positive remarks about certain ebay sellers... but here's the thing, if you're in doubt, just stay away. Check the listings (completed and current), take a good look at the feedback and history, and if you still think you smell a rat just move on. Never take anyone elses word on the net unless these are people that you know and trust
