I have a Gigibyte Ga-8pe667 ultra 2 mother board with an on board sata controler. I can use it fine if I load the driver when
I do a windows xp install. I would like to add an Adaptec 29160n controler and a scsi drive. My bios lets me chose the boot priority sata raid or scsi. When I chose sata as the first boot device it refuses to boot it but boots off the scsi. Now if I disconect the scsi it will boot the sata drive. Any idea what's up with this? |

Doesn't the adaptec has a bios in wich u can disable the Boot option of the entire card? I haven't touched SCSI in years but I do remember full SCSI controllers come with a Bios
Hit CTRL A somewhere during boot should enter it on an adaptec (is ctrl Q on our belgian keyboards) , good luck. |

Its been a very long time ago but i think it is called INT11 options in the Bios, u have to disable that, i thought that was the SCSI Boot Override interrupt.

Thanks for the help. And I was able to turn the bios off on the
scsi card so it boots off the sata drive. Still funny I can boot from an ide drive without disabling that scsi bios. |
