I am building a gate drive transformer, for a HALF BRIDGE power supply, the A-AND-T-LABS power supply, www.a-and-t-labs.com
Since the company as it looks, is closed down, they are no longer responding to e-mails, however I decided to build the power supply from scratch, I have all the parts now, assembled the PCB, all OK. The only problem I have is the GATE DRIVE Transformer. winding as follows 14 Turns Primary 12 Turns Secondary 1 12 Turns Secondary 2 12 Turns Secondary 3 12 Turns Secondary 4 The core I am using is specially designed for GDT, form Coilws.com with AL6000. Each secondary will drive a MOSFET IRFP450. to make 2 mosfets out phase 180 degree with the other 2 mosfets. I am unable to make Secondary 1 and Secondary 3 180 Degree OUT OF PHASE with Secondary 2 Secondary 4 I tried to wind in deference ways, but I failed to make it work ANY help with this issue is more than appreciated. how to wind it in the right way to accomplish that!? THANKS |

The only way to make them 180 degrees out of phase is to flip the "polarity" of the outputs.
