I have followed John's stuff for years and I have emailed him a couple of times about his magazine column. This site was packed with great stuff, I hope it returns better than ever.

Thanks guys, I'm sure I can recreate much of it. I was more disappointed at the thought of one of the "good guys" maybe throwing in the towel on new contributions. The stuff on DIY Geiger counters for instance was pretty unique and way out of the box at times. Using the Thorium decay generated leakage in an ordinary neon bulb as a high value resistance, neat stuff.
I thought of him as a sort of Mr Wizard kitchen sink style DIY, as opposed to borrowing CNC milling machines, etc. Don't get me wrong there's a place for both.
